Brent Diwali celebrations begin today with Rangoli and Lantern making. For more details see LINK.

Main celebrations will be on Saturday 30th October 2010

2pm – 6pm

Shri Sanatan Hindu Mandir on Ealing Road Diwali dance programme. Watch traditional Indian dance groups perform on the steps of the stunning new temple that opened this year.

Rangoli competition. Enter bring your creation to the rangoli marquee by 12 noon on the day to be in the running.

Take the opportunity to see the breathtaking Shri Sanatan Hindu temple inside.

7pm – 8pm

Along Ealing Road to Barham Park will be the biggest Brent Diwali Parade spectacle outside of India. Bringing the colourful story of Diwali to life, local community groups have been working in partnership with Emergency Exit Arts and Mahogany to create spectacular floats. Each element of the Diwali epic will be animated through the unique use of light and colour to celebrate the powerful messages of Diwali.

8.30pm

Barham Park – Fireworks and laser show. The skies of Barham Park will explode with fireworks and lasers in a thrilling show to end the evening.

  2. Hi Pravin,

    There will not be a parade this year as there has been in previous years due to the £100 million+ in cuts that Brent Council has to make over the next four years.

    There will however be Diwali fireworks on 5th November 2011 at Barham Park.

    • why are diwali fireworks being held on 5th November when Diwali is on 26th October. Would you hold New Year celbrations in March or April?

      Whay can’t Gut Fawkes celebrations be brought forward?
