Forget about Sarah Teather. She has turned out just like the rest of them when they get a taste for power and the hidden hand behind our parliament takes control of them.

…It seems to me this whole regeneration nonsense has been sprung upon the public without any consultation. We don’t need a new library or “cultural centre” whatever that means! The library that is there now does a good job. Perhaps the place needs sprucing up a bit and someone with a bit of vision and get up and go put in as a manager. there is a bar there, a restaurant, a cinema, an art gallery, meeting rooms and a bookshop. What more do you want?

Another thing and perhaps the most important……leave our little bit of history alone! Do not demolish the original library that stands outside. This quaint little building has survived two world wars and is now about to be flattened on the whim of three or four unknown, faceless councillors who think they know what is best for us..

The planned new building looks awful and comes right up to the roadside leaving no room for a square or any kind of open space for people to sit in the sun or just to meet and gather for whatever reason. We need that open space. ……

Also it is planned to build upon the car park at the rear taking away even more of the little parking space there is in Willesden.

Stop, stop, STOP.

On a different matter. I note that you haven’t mentioned the Willesden Library fiasco…..I am a local resident who wants to preserve our history so I want to see the old library building retained and a bigger open space out front. If a new library is needed then there is plenty of land toward the rear of the library that is there now. The carpark is a much needed resource in the area and really should be left as it is. The present library which is fairly new should be refurbished. We don’t need a “cultural” centre. We have that already plus a cinema which the council vandals plan to demolish and not replace…..Stop this unwanted development!

I did that once. A bunch of tinkers dumped a lorry load in my car park. I sifted through it and found the shop from where it had come. They were renovating and had employed these scoundrels to take away the rubbish….I contacted the council but all they wanted to do was prosecute the shop owners for employing unregistered waste contractors. They wouldn’t go after the tinkers who dumped the crap on my doorstep….Were they too frightened to confront them like the police often are?…..The council were useless.

It used to be the case that Brent Council meetings were solely just talking shops and party political bashing opportunities. However, Labour recently changed that to make Council meetings meaningful for all, including opposition parties by inviting external speakers and presenters in recognition of this. If you look at Full Council meetings in the last year, you’ll see presenters such as the Brent Borough Commander. This is unprecedented.

Yesterday we had speakers from the Tricycle and Fountain Studios to present and for Cllrs to ask questions to.

But when you now say to people Labour would have done it different they just shrug and say maybe, the feeling now is labour has nothing to offer they will say labour had thirteen years in which they used and abused the public sector, built no social housing and now they are backing welfare and benefits caps.

Labour is at the bottom to be honest and to climb out you have to have a different view then just following the Tory line.

saying to people we would have cut just as bad but slower means that it would have been just as bad.

labour came in in 1945 with one of the biggest deficits and debts and formed the NHS, social housing the welfare state, Newer labour can only cut
