Hi all. By way of introduction, my name is Krupesh Hirani. I’ve wanted to set up a blog page for quite some time now and have finally plucked up the courage to do it!

This page will be used to provide insight into the life of a Labour Party activist in Brent and will focus on local issues and occasionally draw on national political issues. I have lived in the Dudden Hill Ward for all my life, apart from the three years I spent away at University.

I first joined the Labour Party six years ago and enjoyed brief spells in a professional capacity at Labour HQ, Westminster in between my second and third years of University and in Spring 2008 at the Parliamentary office of Barry Gardiner MP.

After becoming increasingly frustrated at the level of neglect in Brent and also having my interest in local politics enhanced after working in Barry’s office, I decided to become more actively involved at the local level.
I am now a Labour Party action team member for the ward of Dudden Hill. Fellow team members include Aslam Choudry who continues to work hard for communities in Brent and Aisha Hoda, who helps young people on a daily basis with the group ‘Mathematics’.

I hope that you will find this web page interesting and participate as well as interact. It will be updated in due course with more content and pictures etc, so watch this space!
