In 2013, responsibility for public health came over to Brent Council. One of the services that came over to the Council was the NHS’ smoking cessation service which helps people to quit smoking.
Having reviewed this service area and looking at the needs of Brent people, we have decided to extend our work in this area to provide support to people to quit chewing tobacco. The response comes after growing evidence and incidence of oral cancer rates in Brent. In particular this will better meet the needs of the Borough’s large South Asian population.
With the help of Brent Stop Chewing Service, you are four times more likely to succeed in quitting and our support is free.
You can contact Brent Stop Chewing Service on 020 8795 6669 for support.
