Thank you for voting Labour

Thank you for supporting Aslam Choudry, Krupesh Hirani and Janice Long in Dudden Hill ward. We have always strived to represent local people and will continue our commitment to knocking on doors outside of election time and being easily accessible to our residents.

The ward has repaid us by giving us our best results ever in Dudden Hill ward. The Conservatives have passed the Lib Dems as the second party in the ward.

DuddenHill results 2018

The local election period is not officially over. Sadly, one of our colleagues who was well known in the area Lesley Jones passed away the weekend before the elections so the Willesden ward election has been postponed until the end of June. She lived in Dudden Hill so it is a sad time for many of us living locally who knew her.

Brent Leadership Team confirmed for 2014/2015

Brent Cabinet 2014-2015

At the Council AGM on Wednesday, the Brent Council Leadership team was confirmed.

The cabinet has been cut down by 20% to just 8 now. With the Council faced with number reductions at Director and staff level, it was only right that this was reviewed too.

The full cabinet

Leader of the Council – Cllr Muhammed Butt

Deputy Leader – Cllr Michael Pavey

Adults, Health and Wellbeing – Cllr Krupesh Hirani

Children and Young People – Cllr Ruth Moher

Employment and Skills – Cllr Roxanne Mashari

Environment – Cllr Keith Perrin

Regeneration and Housing – Cllr Margaret McLennan

Stronger Communities – Cllr James Denselow

Cllr Kana Neeharathan will be the Mayor of Brent and Cllr Lesley Jones will serve as Deputy Mayor. Chair of Scrutiny is Cllr Aslam Choudry and Cllr Sarah Marquis will now Chair the Planning Committee.

The Tories probably stole the show on the night as it emerged that they would split into two political parties – the Brondesbury Park Conservative Group and the Conservative Party.

It seems bizarre as it was only a couple of weeks ago that residents in Brondesbury Park voted in three Conservative Councillors.

Making a Difference: Adult Social Care supporting vulnerable residents in Brent

Social care delivery is a core service delivery area of the Council and I am proud to be the portfolio holder for this department in Brent. Below is a YouTube video promoting how we are making a difference.

Cllr Hirani joins the Brent Executive with Cabinet Responsibility for Adults and Health

I am delighted to be serving on the Executive at the London Borough of Brent as Lead Member for Adults and Health.

As Lead Member for Adults and Health, I will be overseeing transition, monitoring progress and implementing huge structural changes as our local authority adjusts to the passing of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.

I will bring a person centred approach to the role, as I have been championing outside of my Local Authority work in my profession. I am a passionate believer in helping the most vulnerable in our society, stemming from my Labour and Hindu values that make me who I am.

At 26, I am possibly the youngest Council cabinet member in the country and I am immensely proud of this achievement.
